What You'll Need to Apply for Business Funding

The documents a funding review usually needs, what larger requests add and what Velo never asks for on its website.

Most slow funding decisions come down to waiting on paperwork. The core list is short, and having it ready can save days. Your advisor will tell you exactly what your request needs.

The Core Documents#

For same-day funding, a review usually starts with three things:

  • Recent business bank statements, usually your most recent 4 months: complete PDFs from online banking, every page, for every account your sales flow into.
  • A driver’s license or other government ID for each owner.
  • A voided business check or a bank letter confirming the account where funds would be sent.

For Larger Requests#

Larger requests may also need a recent business tax return, a year-to-date profit and loss statement, or a debt schedule listing every open funding or financing agreement. Products offered by third-party providers, such as a line of credit, are decided by those providers, which set their own document lists. Ask your advisor which items apply before you pull them together.

Tips to Speed Up Review#

  • Send everything at once. A complete package gets reviewed; a partial one waits.
  • Mention open funding up front. It will show in your statements anyway.
  • Make the names match across your application, your bank account and your DBA.

What We Never Ask for on Our Website#

  • Your Social Security number or your online banking login.
  • Your EIN. If you move forward with an offer, your advisor collects what the agreement needs.
  • Bank statement uploads. Ask your advisor for a secure upload link, or share statements on your call.

If someone claiming to be from Velo asks for any of these by text or email, don’t send it. Email info@vcfus.com and we’ll confirm whether the request is real. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information.

This guide is general information about business funding. It isn't legal, tax or financial advice, and it doesn't describe any specific offer. Your agreement and the disclosure you receive before signing are what count.
